Mike Thornton is managing partner and co-founder of Thornton & Naumes. A nationally known expert on toxic tort litigation, Mr. Thornton graduated from Dartmouth College and Vanderbilt Law School. In the 1970's, he successfully undertook the representation of a number of men who had long occupational exposure to asbestos at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in New Hampshire and had developed various asbestos-related diseases. Over the years, the firm grew to become the largest law firm in the Northeast representing asbestos victims. Mr. Thornton has served as plaintiff's liaison counsel to the U.S. District Court in Boston in connection with that Court's asbestos docket. Thornton & Naumes has overall responsibility for coordinating all plaintiffs' activity on that docket and for representing all plaintiffs on issues of common concern. The firm is also involved in other areas of toxic tort and products liability litigation on behalf of plaintiffs. Mr. Thornton is a member of the Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine bars. He has published a number of articles on legal subjects and has lectured at the Harvard School of Public Health, Harvard Medical School and Yale Law School.
